Hannah had a terrible accident and had to retire from active duty. Her family encouraged her to dabble in international consulting in commercial food. Her travels never leave her without calls for help to solve a mystery.
Gourmet and chef Elias Babel, an expert in truffles, the highly sought-after mushroom delicacies referred to as nature’s diamonds, took a nasty fall from his hotel balcony. But when friend Hannah Starvling suspects it was not an accident she is determined to resolve this mystery.
After encountering several suspects, including one who seems determined to insert himself into her investigation, she becomes even more convinced of foul play. Ultimately the valuable mushrooms have disappeared escalating this as a crime.
She only has a few working clues. First, somebody attempted to kill her friend and subsequently kidnapped him. Second, another rival chef is somehow involved. Third, the mysterious stranger, Lukas Grim, is not who he claims. And last, it all revolves around her friend’s last conscious word – ‘Dahlia’.
Will Hannah be able to figure this out? Or will she find Elias dead? And will these events be plagued with more chaos?
As for her problems, she must deal with her grandparents, juggle the obstacles of a new romantic relationship, keep her hospitalized friend alive, all while avoiding getting herself killed.
Now she must find the answers to two questions:
* Who is behind the attempt on Elias’ life? And more importantly…
* Why did the gourmet keep his diamonds in the kitchen?
